They're Back!! We've really missed our Wild Bass, but with their annual ban being lifted on 1st April, they're now mack on the menu. These stunning fish are prized by chefs and food lovers around the world. Our fish are always over the kilo, and can go up to around 5kg in weight. Newlyn catches good numbers of bass and although catch sizes will vary depending on tides and weather, there is usually good availability. If your preferred size isn't showing on the website, we may still be getting a supply of larger fish, but availability may be variable. Send us an email and we can advise on whether we're seeing many 'whoppers' and we can input your order manually Did you know... Wild Bass are placed on an annual ban between the end of January until the start of April. To try to maintain the stock levels of this spectacular species, every year from 1st February to 31st March there is a total ban on bass fishing. At this time of year the bass are spawning, so by leaving them alone during this period it allows the stock to replenish naturally and hopefully encourage the biomass to naturally increase over time.
